The Northern Regional Wellness Coalition has invested in tobacco education in its region.
The Toxic Tunnel project was specifically developed and implemented with the partnerships of Labrador-Grenfell Health and the local school district.
In an effort to provide health promotion education that is both interactive and creative, the Northern Regional Wellness Coalition purchased a tent and acquired numerous visual aids and other learning tools to raise awareness.
Children, youth and families are offered specialized educational tours about the harmful effects of tobacco use.
Profile:
Require the assistance of at least 4 individuals to set it up and provide tours to participants.
Address the following tobacco topics:
Physiology and Anatomy of the Lung
What’s in a Cigarette
Second-hand smoke
Smokeless Tobacco
Cessation or Quitting Information
